CATERING
All your meals can be served in the privacy of Khomba. Indrani, your cook, is incredibly talented and it is highly likely your meals at Khomba will be among the most memorable you have in Sri Lanka. Every day, the manager, Sisera (indrani’s husband) will ask you what you would like to eat. The choice will be a bit limited to what’s been dug up locally, or caught that morning, but there’s never a shortage of fresh vegetable and fantastic fish/prawns/crabs and lobsters.

You will only be asked to pay for the food which has been purchased at cost on your behalf.While we endeavour to cater for all tastes (with veggies being the easiest), Indrani has yet to crack western cuisine. We suggest you work with her and she’ll inevitably surprise and suit spice to size.

DRINKS
Beer and soft drinks are available and will be charged for according to what you drink. If you would like wine and spirits we’d suggest you bring them with you as it is hard to find locally.

GARDEN
The house  is set in six acres of old coconut plantations. While still slightly immature they blend with the wild and untamed nature of the beach and surrounding areas.
 
Within 300  metres there’s the highly acclaimed Bar Reef Resort - sister to Sri Lanka’s most outsanding ayurvedic retreat, Ulpotha - and Palagama Beach,   Bar Reef Resort’s management are responsible for the day to day running of  Khomba House. Clients are free to use  all the facilities at the other hotels including both pools and the water sports centre at Bar Reef Resort.  There are also two restaurants at the other hotels for you to dine in should you like a change from the delicious food cooked up by the Khomba House chef.

At the beach front there is a ‘hut’ for the exclusive use of our clients.

FACILITIES

A cycle path following the beach joins all of the local facilities:
Within 300 metres there’s the highly acclaimed Bar Reef Resort - sister to Sri Lanka’s most outstanding ayurvedic retreat, Ulpotha. The ambalama is the central feature of this stunning resort where you can have a classic Sri Lankan buffet for lunch or dinner (to be paid for at the office). Bar Reef have kindly extended use of their yoga pool to Khomba clients.

Just South of Bar Reef is another sympathetic group of Cabanas called - Palagama. Here too you can have a Western style snack lunch or a sumptuous Sri Lankan dinner in the restaurant. The management of Palagama have also very kindly offered the use of their glorious salt water pool.

To the North of Khomba you will find the recently completed Udekki

Udekki’s philosophy on food is to provide guests with what they want to eat, when they want to eat it.Chef can prepare a scrumptious range of local delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A range of light snacks, and dishes from around the world can also be prepared if you desire.
